What is Revolut?
Revolut is a digital bank and e-money group: an app, accounts, and Visa or Mastercard debit cards depending on the country. Starzino lists Revolut as a payment option, and our Starzino review covers its other banking methods too. “No fees” is marketing, not a complete tariff. ATM, FX fair-usage, weekend markup and plan fees exist on published price pages.
Revolut was founded in 2015 in London by Nikolay Storonsky and Vlad Yatsenko. The UK entity is Revolut Ltd. EEA customers typically sit with Revolut Bank UAB, a bank authorised in Lithuania and supervised in that framework. Those are banking and e-money permissions. They are not a casino licence.
Revolut reported more than 50 million retail customers worldwide in its 2024 annual report.
The app holds balances in several currencies and issues a card that works wherever the scheme is accepted. Casino cashiers often show Visa or Mastercard, not the word Revolut. A gambling merchant category can still be declined, including when a gambling block is switched on in the app.
How Revolut Shows Up in a Casino Cashier
A Revolut account can send, receive and exchange money in many currencies. The interbank rate on some FX is a product feature with caps and weekend adjustments. It is not a reason to assume casino deposits are free. Standard, Plus, Premium, Metal and Ultra plans change those caps. The public price list is the source, not a casino banner.
The card is a Visa or Mastercard debit (region-dependent), which is why contactless and in-app payments work. For a casino, that means card number, expiry, security code, and 3-D Secure in the Revolut app. There is rarely a separate “Revolut casino” processor logo.
Who Is Behind Revolut
Storonsky and Yatsenko founded Revolut Limited in 2015 after working in finance. The company is based in London, with Revolut Bank UAB in Vilnius for EEA banking. Early investors are a capitalisation story. They do not licence a casino and they do not underwrite a cashout.
Support from well-known technology investors is not a gambling permit. The operator’s footer licence is still the document that matters on a casino site.
Pay cashless on the go and online
Deposits start in the casino cashier, not inside a special Revolut gambling tab. Link the card or, where listed, a bank pay-in. Top up the Revolut account from another bank or card first if the balance is empty. A linked funding card can add a second 3-D Secure step.
The app then shows the balance and the card transaction. That overview is similar in spirit to a casino PayPal activity list, with a different licence. Paying from the app or by entering the card in the cashier is the same rail: a scheme debit the merchant can accept or decline.
Receiving money from a Revolut Casino
Winnings return only if the cashier lists a card credit or a bank payout to the Revolut account. Many operators still take cards in and pay out by e-wallet or ordinary transfer. Deposit is not withdrawal. Playing with real money does not create a free, instant mobile credit.
If a card cashout is listed, the casino’s advertised processing window is clock A. Clock B is the scheme credit onto the Revolut card, which can take extra business days. Entering a mobile number is not a substitute for the card details the cashier asks for. Treat “a few minutes” as operator copy, not a Revolut SLA.
Advantages of Revolut
The useful traits are an app already in the player’s name, a debit card that many cashiers already accept as Visa or Mastercard, and FX tools for travel. Availability at a given casino still follows the card scheme and any gambling block.
Deposits often credit after 3-D Secure succeeds. That is issuer authorisation, which can feel immediate. Withdrawals are a different clock. Skipping a pending window because the app is pretty is how first cashouts stall on KYC.
The Standard plan is free to hold. It is not free to use in every corridor. Premium and Metal add monthly fees and extra allowances. Casino deposits can still be declined as gambling, and some issuers treat gambling as cash. Read Revolut’s gambling-block help page and the operator’s card rules together.
How to get started at a Revolut Casino
Open the Revolut account and complete Revolut’s own identity check first. That file does not replace casino KYC. Card issue and a funded balance come next. “30 seconds” is onboarding copy, not the full document pass.
The cashier flow is then an ordinary card or bank payment:
- Download the Revolut app and open an account, or continue in a country where web onboarding is offered.
- Complete Revolut’s ID check.
- Add a debit card in the app and, if needed, top up from another account.
- In the casino cashier, choose Visa or Mastercard (or bank transfer if listed) and enter the amount inside the published limits.
- Complete 3-D Secure in the Revolut app. That prompt authorises the payment. It does not finish casino KYC.
The app’s activity list is the receipt to compare with the casino cashier. If they disagree, send both references to operator support before retrying.
This is how you get your money
After the casino approves a withdrawal to the Revolut card or account, the funds sit in Revolut. What happens next is a Revolut product choice, not a casino feature.
- Leave the balance in Revolut and spend on the debit card, subject to Revolut’s own limits and merchant declines.
- Withdraw cash from an ATM on the Visa or Mastercard network, subject to plan caps and ATM operator fees. FX on those withdrawals follows Revolut’s live tariff, including weekend adjustments where they apply.
Revolut at Casinos, Without the Slogan
Revolut’s own marketing calls the app a global lifestyle product. On a casino cashier it is a debit card or a bank account. Time saved is the 3-D Secure tap, not a rewritten house edge. Extra costs sit in FX, ATMs and plan fees, not only in the casino table.
Unlike some e-wallets, a Revolut card can take cash from an ATM after a casino credit has posted. That is useful. It still requires the casino to have sent the money to that card first. Address the withdrawal column before celebrating the ATM.
Revolut Casino FAQ
The questions below cover authentication, card cashouts, bonuses, founders, and fees. Revolut’s help pages remain the product manual. The operator’s cashier remains the last word on whether Visa, Mastercard or a bank payout is listed.
